Team Topknot Yoga Sessions

I spent Saturday @ the Priest Draw working on The Girl From Ipanema, without success, but I do feel that I am getting better @ the moves and it shall come together soon.
Sunday we decided to rope up and we took our new friend Jeff, from West Virgina, with us to Jack's Canyon. We ended up getting on some difficult and powerful routes that required flexability and contortion acts that bordered close to our limits. Check out some of the fun!!

No Joke.......Again

I have finally started working on some of the boulder problems at the Mars Roof at the Priest Draw. By far the hardest problems I have ever tried but they feel doable. Only real problem is that because they take so much effort for me to climb, that I have to take more rest time between sessions as well.
So, because of this I only managed to climb on Sunday this past weekend. We went out to the Pit and there was a really good crew of us out there so it was a lot of fun. Kim, Zoltan, and I are trying to get our power endurance back so we are working on "No Joke" 13 a/b. Zoli and I are going for the repeat sends and trying to get back our endurance for the spring. Kim is working towards her first 13, and it is going to happen.
I still think the first moves on the route are the hardest, and here to show them is none other than......KIM!!!

Spring is in the Air

The daytime temps are rising, the snow is melting, and the climbs are..... well their still hard as Hell.
Last weekend Sam and I went to the Gorilla Cliffs near St. George Utah. There is some really amazing Blue and Gray limestone there. Although the routes where mostly short, the rock quality is impeccable, and the movements amazing! I didn't manage to send anything but Sam did quite well for himself, sending "The Present" 14a in just a few tries, and the working on "Psychedelic" 14d, and doing well on that also.

This past weekend Zoltan and I head east over the Continental Divide in New Mexico to climb at the Enchanted Tower! We were planning on three days of fun long endurance climbing and had not a care in the world.....until we started climbing.
I decided that I wanted to get on one of the short 13's, White Queen, and I did very well. So figuring that I would send it fast I continued to climb on it, all the while quickly loosing skin and draining my power. By the 2nd day I had already depleted my skin and strength to a level preventing me from climbing 13's, but I had lost sooooo much skin that climbing anything was becoming almost unbearable.

We tried to climb the third day, but neither of us had much left. It had been almost a year since the last time I had been there, guess I forgot how abrasive the rock is.
But Hopefully I can heal fast because I have projects to work at Priest Draw...........but that story is for next time..............

Imogene Pass Run training begins

Monday, March 29th 2010, 8:00 am, the training begins.
For those that don't know what this race is, here is a link to the site...
http://www.imogenerun.com/
But basically it is a run that starts at 8000 feet and in 10 miles crosses the Imogene pass at 13000 feet. Then 8 miles back down the other side.
So Monday Kim and I started our training. The only mountain road open right now is the Elden Summit road. So we started at about 7300 ft and ran up to 8300 ft and back in about an hour. Yes it doesn't sound like much but running at that elevation, much less uphill for 3 miles, is pretty tough and we have to start somewhere. Fortunately the race is not until September.
